Real Madrid wants Kylian Mbappé, that’s no secret. Over the summer, the Spanish side made offers to land the 22-year-old, but Paris Saint-Germain declined the proposals.
With only a few weeks until the January window opens, Mundo Deportivo reports that Real Madrid will not pursue the France international. Los Blancos plan to wait until June when his contract with PSG expires.
However, the Spanish media outlet doesn’t detail that the La Liga club can reach an agreement with Mbappé on a pre-contract that kicks in next season. As a result, it will be interesting to see if this is an avenue Real Madrid pursues.
Over the past few weeks, it’s been quiet on all fronts with the window opening—no further updates on what PSG is doing behind the scenes to extend their star player. Nonetheless, Mbappé did discuss a little about his future.
“My future? I still do not know. I said I spent five amazing years in Paris, I took advantage of every moment, and I continue to do so. Lots of great things are going to happen, great deadlines, but I have already spoken about them,” Mbappé said.
Real Madrid is reportedly ready to launch “Operation Mbappé” in hopes of securing the forward.
