Lionel Messi has missed the last two matches for Paris Saint-Germain. The 34-year-old didn’t feature in their UEFA Champions League matchup against RB Leipzig and Ligue 1 fixture against FC Girondins de Bordeaux.
The Argentine forward had been dealing with a hamstring injury, and despite the knock, the Argentina national team decided to call him up for this week’s FIFA international break.
Despite dealing with an injury, Tyc Sports reports that the issue should not prevent him from playing against Uruguay on Thursday, either as a starter or by entering during the game as a substitute.
Furthermore, the report details that the PSG forward plans to start against Brazil. Nonetheless, the call-up hasn’t sat well with the capital club as sporting director Leonardo recently lashed out at the national team.
Les Parisiens will be watching with a magnifying glass how Messi looks should he make appearances in these two matches for Argentine.
