In years past, Paris Saint-Germain has come close to winning the prestigious UEFA Champions League competition.

With the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar leading the way, PSG has reached the semifinals of the Champions League in the last two seasons. But in the end, the side came up short in both runs.

Mbappe sure is far from content with PSG simply at the least reaching the semifinals of this competition, which he opened up about in speaking to Telefoot.

“I think we have a certain consistency in Europe in these last few years, having reached the final and the semifinal,” Mbappe said. “But we’re not completely satisfied. We’re happy because we’ve brought the club to heights where it hadn’t been before in the new Champions League format, but now we want to make history.

“We’re competitors, and when you’re a competitor you want to win.”

PSG’s odds to win the Champions League have been at an all-time high following its free transfer signing of longtime Argentine forward Lionel Messi.

For now, Mbappe and PSG will return to Champions League group stage play later this month with the away clash against Manchester City. Both clubs are aiming to clinch the top spot in Champions League Group A.
