Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi has been in promising form as of late with the Argentina national team. He has posted formidable performances over the calendar year, including the recent one-goal showing against Uruguay in 2022 World Cup qualifying play.
Argentina national team manager Lionel Scaloni remains pleased with the form of Messi as of late, which he detailed further during a press conference on Wednesday.
“There are moments and moments of the teams,” Scaloni said. “In the end, the team is the one that pulls the situation forward and that makes him even better. He is good as a team, he feels comfortable with his teammates and that makes him even better.
“Without the team, his performance would not be so reflected. Today we are doing well as a group, as a team, and that is what we see.”
Messi will lead Argentina in its final fixture of the October international break, which will come on Thursday against Peru.
