Following the international window where Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar Jr. suited up for the Brazil national team, the 29-year-old didn’t feature in the match against Angers SCO like most South American players returning to the French capital.
However, Neymar didn’t make the squad list for Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League matchup against RB Leipzig. Ahead of the fixture, manager Mauricio Pochettino provided the reason as to why they decided to air on the side of precaution with the Brazil international during his press conference.
“The priority is always the health of the players, in this case, Neymar here who has a small problem. It’s not much, but we hope it won’t keep him away from the group for more than a few days and that he can be back with us as soon as possible,” Pochettino said.
PSG will lean on Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé to secure the three points against the German side even without Neymar.
