RB Leipzig went into the Parc des Princes and held their own against Paris Saint-Germain despite being the weakest team in Group A. Despite going down 1-0, the German side went up 2-1 early in the second half, putting a scare into the capital club.

However, Leipzig would cough up the lead and lose 3-2 following a brace by Lionel Messi, breaking the hearts of those who support the Bundesliga club. After the match forward Christopher Nkunku spoke with beIN Sports, stating that they beat themselves, not PSG.

“No, not impressed. I think we were good in our game. Like I said, it’s individual mistakes that get us out of the game,” Nkunku said.

“After that, I think we have a good game overall. We are well in place; we have situations to score. We lack a bit of success to finish. I think when you lead 2-1, you have to keep that score. We are able to do it.”
