Over the past week, the dominant story off the pitch for Paris Saint-Germain has been the public marital issues between striker Mauro Icardi and his agent/wife, Wanda Nara.
Icardi’s marriage problems caused the 28-year-old to miss this week’s UEFA Champions League match against RB Leipzig. Since then, he has returned to training and even reportedly explained his absence to his teammates.
Ahead of the matchup against Olympique de Marseille, manager Mauricio Pochettino commented on the matter at his press conference with the media.
“Icardi is a strong player mentally. He was not with us against Leipzig, but he was in training this morning, and he will be in the squad tomorrow,” Pochettino said. “From the president to the players to the players, we are all here to help him at all times. He is doing well, he has trained well, and he is available to the group.”
