Paris Saint-Germain welcomed the reigning Ligue 1 champions Lille OSC to the Parc des Princes. Les Dogues would open the scoring as the capital club struggled in the first half to generate much offense.

Lionel Messi played only 45 minutes in the match due to being subbed out for what seemed like an injury. Following the game, manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the media at his press conference and the Argentine tactician had to elaborate on why he took out Messi.

“As a precaution, in agreement with the medical sector, it is hoped that he will be available for the Leipzig match,” Pochettino said.
