Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar did not take part in the team’s UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against RB Leipzig due to a groin injury.
Now, there is a growing chance that Neymar may feature in PSG’s upcoming Ligue 1 showdown against Olympique de Marseille.
As noted by RMC Sport, PSG is currently “optimistic” that the Brazilian forward will take part in the match.
A decision on this matter is expected to be made on Saturday.
If Neymar does not end up receiving the green light to play against Marseille, then Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe will be called upon to lead PSG’s attack in the match. The two star forwards have already formed keen chemistry together this season, which has been on display in Champions League play.
PSG currently holds first place in the Ligue 1 standings with 27 points over 10 matches played. The side is looking to win Ligue 1 following its second place finish last season.
