Paris Saint-Germain has completed arguably two of the most shocking transfer signings in recent memory, with the additions of Neymar in 2017 and Lionel Messi over the recent summer transfer window.
Many never would have speculated that Messi would ever don a PSG shirt in his career, including Kylian Mbappe. During his interview with L’Equipe, Mbappe noted that Messi was one of those players in which he placed in the “impossible-for-me-to-play-with” category.
However, as he noted later in the interview, Mbappe did note that Neymar was also one player in which he was star-struck to see arrive at the French powerhouse.
“Neymar, a bit, when he arrived,” Mbappe said. “He was really extraordinary. But Messi is something else. It’s amazing to think that the only other club shirt he’s worn, other than Barcelona, is PSG. We have to realize that this is something extraordinary.”
Messi, Neymar and Mbappe have not not gotten off to a dominant start together this season, which includes their recent failure to muster up a single goal in PSG’s 2-0 Ligue 1 loss against Rennes.
Nonetheless, Messi, Neymar and Mbappe are all much expected to soon put out for formidable performances in all competitions this season.
