As expected, Paris Saint-Germain has so far had its way over the course of this season. From the undefeated record in Ligue 1 play to the massive home win over Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League group stage, PSG has met expectations for many over the ongoing campaign.
Amid such notable success early in the season, center-back Marquinhos sees that there is one key for the team over the remainder of the campaign, which he touched upon to PSG TV.
“Team spirit,” Marquinhos said. “I think that’s what has taken us further and further in the competitions in which we have played. And I think we need time, work, unity and humility.
“We also need to find that cohesion and understanding on the pitch so that all the players can shine and do their best on the pitch, that we understand each other perfectly. Little by little, that is going to come, and I hope we can do some great things this season.”
PSG is one team in which it is clear that there is a strong bond within the team. Whether it is connections from stints in previous clubs or with national teams, there is a sense of unity amongst the players that has been well evident since Thomas Tuchel’s latter run with the club.
For now, PSG is set for a key Ligue 1 away fixture against Rennes before the upcoming October international break.
