Video: ‘We Were Able to Score’ – Idrissa Gueye Discusses PSG’s Victory Over Manchester City

Idrissa Gueye is one of the unsung heroes that won’t get much press in mainstream football media, but the 31-year-old has become a vital piece in the midfield this season.

On matchday two in the UEFA Champions League against Manchester City, Gueye opened up the scoring for the capital club. The midfielder would win seven of 11 duels while completing 43 of 47 passes on 64 touches.

After the 2-0 victory over Manchester City, Gueye spoke to RMC Sport to discuss the result.

“The most important thing was to stay strong. It was not an easy match, and we were able to defend well, play on the counterattack and have opportunities,” Gueye said.

“We were able to score, and now we have to focus on the next game. We had to stay compact in the middle and use our blocks well to score. It was easy to defend today because there was not a lot of pace in front.”
