This weekend, the marquee matchup in Ligue 1 is betwee Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais. The capital club is coming off a disappointing draw in the UEFA Champions League against Club Brugge; meanwhile, Lyon had an impressive 2-0 in the UEFA Europa League against Rangers FC.
Ahead of the matchup, new arrival Xherdan Shaqiri spoke to Téléfoot, and he’s awaiting the fixture between two of the marquee clubs in French football. The 29-year-old is very confident heading into this matchup at the Parc des Princes.
“We’re excited. We’re going to take this match like any other. Of course, it’s PSG, surely the best team in France. We want to compete with the best,” Shaqiri said. “We’re going to play in Paris and go there to play our football, with confidence, to win the match.”
