This season sees Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille as the two best teams in Ligue 1. The capital club has 18 points in first place; meanwhile, their long-time rivals sit in second with 13 points.
Both teams will collide next month on the 24th, and if they both maintain their current form, it could make a first-place vs. second-place matchup at the Stade Vélodrome.
Despite the matchup being over a month away, Marseille defender Luan Peres spoke about facing PSG down the road during his press conference.
“It is possible to win against PSG. If we take the example of Club Brugges, they had a very good draw. The PSG is a great team but not invincible. If we stay focused during all matches, we can hang with PSG. I think it’s not impossible to be champion of France.”
