Report: Di Maria Set to Miss PSG’s Upcoming Fixtures Against Clermont and Club Brugge

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Angel Di Maria is on track to feature in Argentina’s 2022 World Cup qualifying fixture against Bolivia. But this may be his last fixture for quite a while.

As noted by L’Equipe, Di Maria is not expected to play in PSG’s upcoming Ligue 1 fixture against Clermont Foot, as this match will come just two days after the Argentine’s expected appearance against Bolivia.

More so, Di Maria was reportedly handed a three-match suspension for the UEFA Champions League competition due to his red card incident in the semifinal second leg clash against Manchester City last season. Thus, Di Maria will not be featuring for PSG in its Champions League group stage opener against Club Brugge next week.

As a result, Di Maria will now have to wait until Sept. 19 to once again appear in a fixture with PSG, when the side will have an early season Ligue 1 duel against Olympique Lyonnais.

At the least for Di Maria, he will be earning much-needed rest at this point in the season.
