This summer, Paris Saint-Germain had to deal with substantial interest from Chelsea FC for Marquinhos during the summer transfer window. The Blues were ready to offer an enormous sum.
RMC Sport reports that the Premier League side looked to bolster its central defense and wanted to reunite Thomas Tuchel with Marquinhos. The French media outlet adds that the Blues were ready to make an offer of up to €100-million to secure the services of the 26-year-old defender.
However, PSG and even the player turned down the offer to pursue this interest any further. Nonetheless, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Tuchel wanted his new club to seek the 27-year-old, considering how much he loved the player while coaching him in Paris.
Furthermore, Tuchel would have wanted to reunite Marquinhos with his former defensive partner in Thiago Silva. Despite the interest, the Brazilian wants to remain in the French capital since he arrived as a teenager from AS Roma.
