Pochettino Spotlights the One Reason on Why Wijnaldum Will Succeed at PSG

New Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has been a regular as of late with the team. The Dutch midfielder has so far featured in five Ligue 1 fixtures this season.

PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino has been following Wijnaldum’s career for years now, which dates back to his days in game planning against the former Liverpool midfielder while manager of Premier League side Tottenham. More so, there is one reason as to why the Argentine manager sees that Wijnaldum will succeed at PSG, which he detailed to UEFA’s official website about.

“He’s been captain of the Netherlands national team, he won everything at Liverpool, but he still has a lot of football left to play,” Pochettino said. “He can play in several positions, but without losing his competitiveness, deeply understanding the game, deploying a great level in terms of technique and [strength].”

Wijnaldum has already shown his versatility with PSG this season. For one, he has so far featured with the team as a base midfielder and central attacking midfielder.

PSG sure will also count on his experience as a midfielder in this campaign, including in key UEFA Champions League fixtures and must-win matches over in Ligue 1 play.
