Pochettino Provides a Unique Analysis on What Makes Neymar a ‘Creative Player’

After a slow start to the season, Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar is now beginning to pick up his form. For one, the Brazilian forward had a key showing for PSG in its recent Ligue 1 win over Olympique Lyonnais, where he scored one notable penalty goal.

PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino remains much impressed with Neymar’s play. And following PSG’s key away league win over Metz, the Argentine manager touched on Neymar’s play, where he offered a unique analysis (via Le Parisien) of the Brazilian forward.

“I’m very happy with his state of mind, his mentality, and everything he brings to the team,” Pochettino said. “He is a creative player, and, as with any creative player, you expect magic every time he touches the ball. These players have a higher energy expenditure than others. It’s not easy and I’m thrilled with what he’s doing.”

PSG sure will need Neymar to continue to put out for key performances in all competitions. For one, the French powerhouse is set for a monumental test next week in UEFA Champions League group stage play, when it will take on Premier League powerhouse Manchester City.

PSG could use a massive one key performance from the Brazilian forward against a Manchester City side that is being tabbed as a favorite in the competition this season.
