Many have debated on just where this achievement ranks in the career of Messi, especially as he won numerous team honors during his lengthy run with Barcelona.
For Messi, he sees this Copa America win as one of the greatest achievements of his career to date, which he spoke further about to the Argentine-based outlet TyC Sports.
“This was the hardest thing,” Messi said. “I went through a lot of things. I was lucky at the club that I won very quickly and often, the blows came later. With the national team, it was blow after blow, competition after competition. To be able to enjoy something with the national team was special.”
