Herrera Offers a Preview on How Ramos Will Fit In at PSG This Season

New Paris Saint-Germain defender Sergio Ramos still has not made his official debut with the team this season, as the Spaniard remains sidelined due to a calf injury. There is still much anticipation into just when Ramos will feature in his first match with the Ligue 1 giants.

Ander Herrera is one player who is well familiar with Ramos, which dates back to his time in going up against the former Real Madrid defender during his La Liga runs with Real Zaragoza and Athletic Bilbao.

In speaking to Cadena Ser’s “El Larguero’ show, Herrera revealed that Ramos has a strong desire to return to in-game action. But the Spanish midfielder also hinted at how Ramos will fit in at PSG, where he mentioned the defender’s leadership traits.

“He’s crazy eager to play,” Herrera said. “He’s a leader and a winner. He’s played 99 percent of the games in his career, and I don’t want to burden him too much by asking him. We’re looking forward to seeing him with us. I’m sure when he comes back he won’t go wrong again.”

Ramos will not feature for PSG in its upcoming Ligue 1 home fixture against Olympique Lyonnais. There is no official timetable as to when he may step onto the pitch for his first match in Ligue 1, but at the least, he is striving to be available for the side as soon as possible.
