Paris Saint-Germain has opened up the new Ligue 1 season on a promising note.
The French powerhouse has won its opening four matches of the Ligue 1 season and more so, the side leads the league in goals scored with 12, which includes the four-goal outing in the home win over Strasbourg.
PSG midfielder Ander Herrera is much pleased with the team’s attacking performances so far this season, which he spoke further about to PSG TV.
“We don’t want to concede a lot of goals, but we can’t go against our nature and our identity, which is founded on attack,” Herrera said. “That’s important for us, for the players and the coaching staff. But we also know that playing this way means we can leave ourselves open to counterattacks.
“The French Ligue 1 boasts many, very fast players, and we have to control them to be able to continue to play the football we love.”
PSG’s attacking showings so far this season sure are promising, especially as Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have yet to feature together in a single match. This, however, is expected to change following the September international break.
PSG well has plenty of expectations to continue this strong start to the season over the remainder of the campaign.
