Conte Analyzes How Pochettino Can Get the Best Out of PSG’s Messi, Neymar and Mbappe Attack

Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe made their first start together for Paris Saint-Germain in the team’s recent UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against Club Brugge. They each failed to create many high-percentage goal-scoring chances in the match.

Former Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte sees grand potential in PSG’s star-studded attacking trio but believes that manager Mauricio Pochettino has plenty of work to do in order to get the best out of the group.

Speaking to the Italian-based station Sky Sport Italia (via Le10Sport), Conte shared his take on PSG’s superstar trio.

“Usually we coaches complain about the lack of players, especially quality players,” Conte said. “In this case, we are talking about a team in which the coach has so many choices, and it is always a problem to solve.

“For the coach, the keyword is balance, with Neymar, Messi, and Mbappe who must always play and occupy certain spaces without giving them up. Pochettino will have to be good at finding a system of play that guarantees a minimum of security for the keeper in the non-possession phase.”

PSG will take on Olympique Lyonnais up next in what will be an early season test for the French powerhouse.
