As the ongoing summer transfer window is coming to a close, there is still one notable storyline that has been attracting the top headlines.
Real Madrid recently opened up a transfer pursuit for Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe. Still, even after submitting two offers to PSG for Mbappe, the La Liga side is yet to sign the French forward.
For Villarreal president Fernando Roig, he is much backing Mbappe to make a move to Real Madrid, which he explained his reasoning to the Spanish-based show El Larguero on Cadena Ser.
“You have to invest in the Spanish Liga to make it one of the best in the world,” Roig said “We’re all going to enjoy it.”
For the moment, Mbappe is still a PSG player and may go on to feature in the team’s upcoming Ligue 1 fixture against Reims. This could all change soon in the transfer market, and it remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will end up making a successful push to sign the forward on one blockbuster transfer deal.
