Lionel Messi has made his move to Paris Saint-Germain official following his departure from FC Barcelona. The shift now turns to when the 34-year-old will make his debut for the capital club.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke with the media ahead of their fixture against RC Strasbourg Alsace. One of the questions that the Argentine tactician had to answer was over when will Messi appear in the starting eleven for Les Parisiens.
“It was his second training after the Copa America final. The priority is that he feels better and better. We’ll see when he’s ready to play,” Pochettino said.
Pochettino then touched on his admiration for Messi, considering their battles in La Liga and their connection with an Argentine club.
“He’s someone I’ve always appreciated. I had admiration for him. Everyone knows the rivalry between Espanyol Barcelona and FC Barcelona. He is someone I have always appreciated,” Pochettino said.
“I see Leo is happy and with incredible energy. You can tell someone is mature. We also have a history with the Newells Old Boy (Argentine club, editor’s note). But we are also there to work.”
