The Ligue 1 season is off and running, but the summer transfer window remains open, and there are two players whose futures are up in the air. With the Lionel Messi transfer now done, the conversation switches to the Kylian Mbappé contract extension saga.
During his press conference, manager Mauricio Pochettino had to answer a question regarding Mbappé’s as reports suggest the 22-year-old will decide on his future next week.
“First of all, I’m not commenting on what my president says; he’s my supervisor. There is nothing to say because Kylian is one of our players,” Pochettino said.
Pochettino also had to comment on the future of Icardi, who has seen his name in various rumors linking him to Serie A clubs; furthermore, as PSG looks to balance its wage bills.
“Like the other players, he is part of the squad. We know that a lot can happen in football, but Mauro is there,” Pochettino said.
Definitely don’t want to lose either of them. Mbappe is Mbappe and I hope he realizes that being at PSG for the next few years is more lucrative than going to LaLiga, both in terms of competitiveness and financially too. Icardi brings a huge upside too, especially as a solid 9 and regardless of his past Inter antics, he seems to have settled here nicely. Ah! Followed you on twitter too, never realized you lot were there. Cheers.
