Mauro Icardi understands that there’s plenty of competition and formations that could see him out of the starting eleven for Paris Saint-Germain. The arrival of Lionel Messi could have Kylian Mbappé go inside, leaving Icardi on the bench.
Nonetheless, Icardi wants to be a part of this super team and, through two fixtures, scoring two goals. He wants everyone to know that he can be counted on for this season.
Following the capital club’s victory over RC Strasbourg Alsace, Icardi spoke to PSG TV to discuss the result.
“It was important to come back to the Parc with our audience for the season premiere and coming back with the victory was the main thing and what we wanted. We did everything from the start to take the three points. Physically, I feel very good,” Icardi said.
“The truth is that I was very happy with the pre-season that we were able to do; we were able to work very well, and now the championship begins. Everything that comes now will be better and better. I feel great, and I’m very happy that I was able to score and help the team win.”
