Every football lover is waiting patiently for Lionel Messi to make his debut for Paris Saint-Germain. After signing with the capital club over two weeks ago, the 34-year-old’s first minutes in France is likely to come Sunday against Stade de Reims.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the media, where Canal Supporters relayed his comments. He discussed Messi and touched the changes the Argentine forward will encounter once he sees the pitch as he goes from playing in La Liga to Ligue 1.
“We have to analyze and see if he can be in the team, then we will communicate the group. It is normal that the doubt exists. We are very motivated, even if when we sign a player, we do not have high expectations at the beginning because the player has to discover and adapt to his new club, his new life, his teammates,” Pochettino said.
“Ligue 1 is more open with more space and physicality than La Liga. We have a team to keep possession of the ball. But we have the best player in the world. He’s a great professional. Messi knows this type of game, but he can adapt to any type of situation.”
