After days of making a grand effort to sign Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid has now withdrawn from transfer talks with PSG for the forward, as noted by RMC Sport.
PSG has remained firm in its aspirations to not sell Mbappe over the ongoing summer transfer window, the report added.
Thus, Real Madrid has halted its efforts to sign the forward on a permanent transfer deal and will shift its focus to coming to terms with him on a free transfer agreement next year when he is currently slated to become a free agent.
From PSG’s perspective, the club will once again make an effort to sign Mbappe to a multiyear contract extension deal.
The La Liga side could always reopen a late interest in signing Mbappe over the final days of the ongoing summer transfer window, but for now, such a push will not be transpiring.
Mbappe is just coming off of the two-goal showing in PSG’s away league fixture against Reims. PSG currently sits at the top of the league table with four wins in four matches.
