PSG Officially Rules Out Mbappe for the 2021 Trophee des Champions Final Due to One Notable Reason

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has been a regular in the team’s training sessions ever since returning from his mini vacation. Still, the forward will not take part in the team’s upcoming 2021 Trophee des Champions Final against Lille OSC.

As noted by PSG’s official website, the club’s coaching staff elected not to include the forward in their final squad list for this match.

Mbappe is currently working on both his fitness and conditioning and thus will not feature in this final.

This may suggest that PSG wants Mbappe to instead focus on the start of the upcoming 2021-2022 Ligue 1 season. PSG will kick off league play with a matchup against newly-promoted side Troyes AC next week.

Mbappe comes into the upcoming season with plenty of high expectations. For one, he is well the favorite to once again win the Ligue 1 Player of the Season award.

For now, PSG will aim to win its first trophy of the season in this final matchup against Lille.
