PSG Mercato: Paris SG Expressing Interest in Sporting Defender Nuno Mendes

Paris Saint-Germain has reshaped its backline with the additions of Sergio Ramos and Achraf Hakimi. After the capital club added former FC Barcelona forward Lionel Messi, some believe that this would wrap up the arrivals to the club.

However, it seems as though the Ligue 1 side wants to improve its left-back position. Juan Bernat is coming off a severe knee injury, and behind the Spain international is Layvin Kurzawa and Abdou Diallo. Kurzawa is a name that PSG wants to offload this summer, so they’re looking to add another defender.

According to Tvi24pt (via Paris Fans), Les Parisiens have expressed interest in Sporting CP left-back Nuno Mendes. The 19-year-old has made 45 appearances for the Lisbon-based club, which won the Primeira Liga last season.

The report states that PSG has an interest, but they have yet to present an offer for the teenager. The French giants are looking to sell players as they look to balance their wage bills as they’ve only seen a few departures this summer.

Nonetheless, it seems as though the capital club understands that they have a weak spot in its starting eleven, and they’re hoping to land someone that can help fill that role this season.
