With the number of attackers upfront on the Paris Saint-Germain squad, youth players have little room to try and crack the starting eleven or even be an option on the bench. As a result, Arnaud Kalimuendo could be heading towards a departure.
According to Italian football reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, Atalanta Bergamo is expressing interest in the young forward. Kalimuendo wants to play following a successful loan spell at RC Lens.
The Serie A club isn’t the only one hoping to land the 19-year-old, who is also courted by many Ligue 1 clubs, including Montpellier, Lille OSC, and AS Saint-Etienne.
Atalanta has surveyed the situation regarding the young striker, and La Dea hopes to work out a deal that will see them land the player. However, the report doesn’t include details about whether it will be a permanent transfer or a loan for Kalimuendo, who has a contract that runs until June 30, 2024.
Furthermore, with the recent injury to Mauro Icardi that sees the striker be out for 3-4 weeks, PSG might now want to offload Kalimuendo. There are only a few days left until the window closes. It will be interesting to see whether the Ligue 1 side decides to part with the teenager.
