PSG Mercato: Absense of Layvin Kurzawa Against Strasbourg Is a Tactical Decision; No Offers on the Table

Layvin Kurzawa has recently seen his name in the transfer rumor mill, with French clubs OGC Nice and Olympique Lyonnais expressing interest in the 28-year-old left-back.

The discussions of a possible departure could explain why the France international isn’t part of the squad that will face RC Strasbourg Alsace. With the additions that the capital club has made this summer, they’ll like to offload some players who don’t have a future to balance their books.

Nonetheless, before people begin packing Kurzawa’s bags, France Bleu Paris Bruno Salomon reports that the absence of the left-back is a tactical one made by manager Mauricio Pochettino. Now it could be a sign to Kurzawa, letting him know that there’s no future for him here.

Kurzawa is a candidate for a departure seeing as PSG had a deal reportedly in place for him with Galatasaray SK but fell through since the player didn’t want to play in Turkey.

Furthermore, the Ligue 1 side wants to upgrade that left-back position since it’s the only weak spot on their backline with the additions of Sergio Ramos to bolster the central defense and Achraf Hakimi to be the starter at right-back.

Recent reports suggest that PSG is expressing interest in Sporting CP left-back Nuno Mendes, but no offer has been made.
