After missing Paris Saint-Germain’s 2021 Trophee des Champions Final against Lille OSC, Kylian Mbappe made his season debut with the team in its 2021-2022 Ligue 1 opener against Troyes AC.
Mbappe had one key showing in the match, as he recorded a first-half assist and created multiple pivotal goal-scoring chances.
PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino sees that Mbappe has been growing in form as of late, which the Argentine spoke further about following the match against Troyes (via Goal).
“Kylian Mbappé is a very professional player who came back in very good shape,” Pochettino said. “He took great care of himself and tonight was good, even if there are things to improve.”
PSG took care of business in the match as it defeated Troyes by a notable 2-1 final score. Mbappe’s first-half assist wound up being the game-winner for PSG.
The French powerhouse will now take on Strasbourg up next in what will be its home league opener. Considering that PSG got off to a slow start in last season’s league campaign, the side will surely be looking to open up this season on a lengthy winning streak.
