Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico may soon be the next player to leave the club over the ongoing summer transfer window.

For one, Rico did recently garner transfer interest from reigning Ligue 1 winners Lille OSC. In the end, Lille decided not to further pursue a deal for the veteran goalkeeper.

As noted by Sky Sport (via Le10Sport), Lille never reached an agreement with Rico for a contract deal. Lille was turned off by Rico’s notable yearly salary contract, which proved to be the deciding factor in the side looking elsewhere for a new goalkeeper.

Lille may end up calling off its pursuit for a new goalkeeper considering the recent performance from Leo Jardim in the team’s 2021 Trophee des Champions Final win over PSG. The Brazilian goalkeeper notched three saves against the French powerhouse in the match.

For now, Rico still waits to see on whether he may end up staying at PSG after all.
