Paris Saint-Germain still remains in a contract extension dilemma with forward Kylian Mbappe.
According to a report from RMC Sport, PSG club officials recently placed a mega five-year contract extension offer on the table to Mbappe. The contract not only included an option for an additional year but also a notable increase in salary.
Mbappe reportedly “did not follow up” on this extension offer from the club.
For the moment, there is a growing possibility now that Mbappe could soon leave PSG for Real Madrid. The La Liga powerhouse is well pondering on making an offer to PSG for Mbappe. Still, to this date, the French side has only received interest for the forward from one Premier League side.
In the case that Mbappe does go on to leave PSG, club officials would show an interest in making a move to sign Brazilian and Everton forward Richarlison. PSG has already reached out to Richarlison’s representatives about such a possibility.
In the case that Mbappe stays on with PSG past the ongoing summer transfer window, the club would then once again aim to reopen extension talks with the forward during this season.
Mbappe is slated to become a free agent next year, which is a scenario that PSG does not want to face for the moment.
