The main storyline heading into the final days of the ongoing summer transfer window remains on whether Kylian Mbappe will stay on with Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG has reportedly pulled out of talks with Real Madrid for Mbappe, but this could still all change over the coming days in the unpredictable world of the transfer market.
As many other PSG players have already spoken about, Brazilian defender Marquinhos well backs Mbappe to stay on with the club, which he spoke further about following the team’s away Ligue 1 win over Reims.
“How do we know,” Marquinhos said. “We don’t even try to ask him. He’s got his goals. If we’re thinking for ourselves, we really want him to stay. He showed today how important he is for us. He has always shown with his personality and his qualities.
“It is sure that if he stays, he will help us a lot this season. After that, we leave him and the management to solve this issue in the best possible way. For us, we want him to stay.”
PSG is already off to a promising start in Ligue 1 play, as the side sits at first place in the league standings with four wins in four matches. Mbappe has played a key role in PSG’s strong run of performances, as the versatile forward has recorded a goal contribution in each of the team’s league matches so far this season.
