So far in Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 campaign, Keylor Navas has been the team’s starting goalkeeper. The Costa Rican goalkeeper earned starts for PSG in its opening four league matches, which includes the team’s recent 2-0 clean sheet win over Reims.

In the meantime, new PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is yet to feature in a match this season, although he has been in the team’s squad lists as of late.

Italian national team manager Roberto Mancini sees that there is one factor that has played into this matter, which he spoke further about (via Sky Sport) during a recent press conference.

“The reason why Donnarumma hasn’t played yet is simply because he came back later than other PSG players, it’s as simple as that and it’s not a problem,” Mancini said.

Donnarumma had a mini vacation after featuring with the Azzurri in the Euro 2020 tournament. He has been a regular in scheduled training sessions with PSG as of late, but still, Navas remains as the team’s starting goalkeeper for the moment.

It will be noteworthy to see on whether Donnarumma will feature for PSG right out of the gate following the September international break.
