Now-former Paris Saint-Germain defender Alessandro Florenzi returned to parent club AS Roma at the start of the ongoing summer transfer window. PSG had the option to keep Florenzi on a permanent transfer deal but elected against doing so in the end.
Florenzi still could feature in Ligue 1 this upcoming season. As noted by the Italian-based outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Onze Mondial), Florenzi is garnering interest from Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais for a possible transfer deal.
Lyon is looking for a new versatile full-back after Mattia De Sciglio made his return to parent club Juventus following his one-season loan stint with the Ligue 1 side.
More so, AS Roma is well open to offloading Florenzi on a permanent transfer deal.
The Italian full-back featured in 21 Ligue 1 fixtures with PSG last season, where he recorded two goals and one assist.
If Florenzi does go on to move to Lyon, he could end up being called on to defend Kylian Mbappe when OL and PSG meet in league play.
