Angel Di Maria is among a few current Paris Saint-Germain players who have had previous experience playing alongside Lionel Messi.
Di Maria has shined in tagging alongside Messi with the Argentina national team. Most notably, the PSG midfielder scored the key game-winning goal in the 2021 Copa America Final against Brazil.
Now, Di Maria will join a select few players who can say that they played with Messi at the club and international levels.
In speaking TyC Sports, Di Maria detailed just what it is like to feature with Messi on the pitch.
“For me, honestly, it’s very easy to play with him,” Di Maria said. “If you run, he throws the ball to you, and it falls at your feet. There are no excuses for anything. I have an excellent relationship with him on and off the field. It’s easy to see what he wants.”
Di Maria also sees that Messi will find grand success at PSG.
“I think Messi gets better every year,” Di Maria said. “With the quality of players PSG has, his level will continue to rise. That’s going to give him an extra plus. Having Neymar, Mbappe and Verratti. The coach is going to put together a team to make him feel as good as possible.”
The anticipation continues on just when Messi will make his first appearance with the French powerhouse. The Argentine sure will look to do what he can to help PSG complete a treble-winning season.
