PSG announced on Thursday that it signed Ramos to a two-year free transfer deal.
Ramos provided brief comments to PSG’s official website about this grand move.
“I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain,” Ramos said. “This is a big change in my life, a new challenge and it’s a day I will never forget. I am very proud to be a part of this ambitious project, to be a part of this squad with so many great players.
“Paris Saint-Germain is a club that has already proven itself at the highest level. I want to continue to grow and improve at Paris and help the team to win as many trophies as possible.”
The veteran Spanish defender just recently ended his lengthy run with Real Madrid after the two sides failed to sign off on an extension deal.
Ramos subsequently became a free agent and as one recent report noted, PSG emerged as the frontrunner to sign the defender from the get-go due to its willingness to offer him a two-year deal, and the French powerhouse did not look back from there.
For now, Ramos is expected to soon join up with PSG for its early preseason schedule.
