Mauricio Pochettino extended his contract with Paris Saint-Germain for another season, which will keep the Argentine in the French capital until 2023.
The decision to prolong Pochettino’s deal means more stability in the project that sees the capital club having a busy summer as they prepare for the 2021-22 season. Furthermore, it’s a sign that everyone within the front office believes in what the 49-year-old can do with the squad they’re putting together.
Extending Pochettino is a decision that After Foot RMC pundit Frédéric Piquionne applauds. The comments made were relayed by Canal Supporters.
“The extension of Pochettino’s contract is reassuring for the club and the players, especially for newcomers because generally you arrive compared to a coach,” Piquionne said. “I like this kind of signing; it proves that Pochettino is doing a good job, and it will also prevent clubs from knocking on the door of PSG to confuse Pochettino’s mind.”
