Former Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos now has a new home with Paris Saint-Germain. The 35-year-old spent 16 years with the Spanish club, and now he ventures to the French capital on a two-year deal.
Ramos spoke with PSG TV, where he discussed joining the capital club and beginning a new venture. One of the first questions that the veteran defender answered is becoming the latest addition of Les Parisiens.
“It’s a very special moment for me. I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain; it is an important change in my life. It’s a new challenge for me, but I’m proud to be able to meet it here in Paris. I come here with the desire to work hard and win titles, two values that are dear to the club. I am happy to be part of this great club,” Ramos said.
The former Real Madrid defender then discussed his thoughts on PSG as an institution, considering Ramos has played against the capital on various occasions in Europe.
“It’s a club that is one of the top picks in Europe. It’s a club that works a lot to succeed, with a great history. It is a young club but one which does not stop growing. There are great players in the squad; it’s a chance for me to grow personally and professionally. “
One of the final questions that Ramos answered is regarding what he will bring to the table for a squad looking to win the club’s first UEFA Champions League trophy.
“I think I can bring experience and maturity. I am a worker; I like to be constant and have a sense of sacrifice. This is what I have achieved throughout my career, and I will try to give the best of myself to try to bring back as many titles here,” Ramos said.
