Georginio Wijnaldum is the newest player to integrate himself into the Paris Saint-Germain squad. The 30-year-old could be ready to play for the capital club in the Trophée des Champions against Lille OSC.
PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the media ahead of the matchup against Lille, where Culture PSG relayed his words. One of the questions that the Argentine tactician answered is over his impression of Wijnaldum, who he coached against in the Premier League.
“He is a player who can bring in both areas of play: offensively and defensively, with that aggressiveness that the whole team needs. His experience and his qualities make him a player who behaves in the same way in both phases of the game,” Pochettino said.
“He is an aggressive player, who throws himself into the opponent’s area when it is necessary to score goals and in the defensive phase, who presses, recovers, and has an impact on duels. He is a complete player and I am delighted to have him with us.”
