Verratti Finished Euro 2020 as the Leader in One Noteworthy Playmaking Stat

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti won his first career major international tournament as Italy defeated England in the Euro 2020 Final.

Verratti shined for Italy over the tournament, which included being its go-to playmaker.

Overall, Verratti totaled for 14 key passes in Euro 2020, which ranked most among all players in the tournament.

The PSG midfielder also recorded two assists for the Azzurri in its Euro 2020-winning run.

Whether in open play or in set-piece situations, Verratti simply found creative ways to create goal-scoring chances for teammates in the tournament.

More so, the PSG midfielder often frustrated opposing midfielders thanks to his expertise in maintaining possession amidst pressure from opponents.

For now, Verratti will enjoy a mini vacation before joining up with PSG for its preseason schedule.

PSG is currently slated to have its first official match of the 2021/2022 season in the upcoming 2021 Trophee des Champions Final against Lille OSC.
