Sergio Ramos ended his lengthy run with Real Madrid last month after the two sides failed to come to terms on a contract extension deal.

Many expected to see Ramos carry on with Real Madrid but still, club officials refused to budge and offer the longtime defender a two-year contract extension deal.

It was a difficult decision for Ramos to leave Real Madrid, which the veteran defender touched upon during his talk with L’Equipe (via Le10Sport).

“There were circumstances that made me make this decision,” Ramos said. “I spoke about it during my press conference at Real, and I believe that constantly revisiting the past would be a mistake.

“Now, my club is PSG and I prefer to talk about the objectives and challenges that await us this season, to project myself into the future.”

With Ramos now with PSG, he will surely look to do what he can to help the side win a long-awaited first UEFA Champions League trophy.

Ramos’ experience in this competition could prove to be quite vital in helping the French powerhouse achieve this feat.
