Sergio Ramos officially completed his free transfer deal with Paris Saint-Germain last week. Ramos signed a two-year free transfer deal with PSG after ending his notable run with Real Madrid.
Overall, PSG had the backing from one superstar talent for this signing.
As noted by the Spanish-based outlet Sport, Neymar pushed PSG club officials to win the free transfer race for Ramos.
Neymar well aspires to win the UEFA Champions League competition. The Brazilian forward believed that the club needed to strengthen its defensive line and saw that Ramos would be the ideal player to help with this goal.
More so, Neymar is good friends with Ramos, which dates back to 2017 when the Spanish defender attempted to convince the Brazilian forward to join Real Madrid.
PSG met Neymar’s request in the end as the side has signed a defender with plenty of experience playing in the biggest matches in club football.
