Paris Saint-Germain has a log jam of goalkeepers that they’ll need to find clubs this summer, with Keylor Navas and Gianluigi Donnarumma owning the two spots. One of the shot-stoppers that could be on the verge of having a new home is Alphonse Areola.
Foot Mercato reports that West Ham United is currently trying to close out a deal that would result in a loan with the option to buy for Areola. This deal will allow the France international to remain in the Premier League another season following his loan stint with Fulham, who was relegated.
Whether it’s West Ham or elsewhere, Areola will have a new club in the coming days, per the French media outlet. The London-based club featuring in the UEFA Europa League competition would allow for Areola to spotlight his talent and perhaps find a permanent home.
Areola is under contract until 2023, and PSG hopes to secure a transfer sum before the 28-year-old’s contract expires in two years.
