PSG Mercato: Serie A Club Set to Abandon Pursuit of Paris SG’s Mauro Icardi

The future of Mauro Icardi remains a mystery as various rumors have the 28-year-old forward departing Paris Saint-Germain. Nonetheless, the Argentine forward has refuted any reports stating that he plans to leave the capital club this summer.

“My family and I are very happy in Paris, and I have many years left on my contract. I’m proud that other teams are interested in me, but my present and my future are in Paris,” Icardi wrote on an Instagram story post.

Whether it’s the desire to remain with the French giants or something else, it seems one club expressing interest in the forward is giving up its pursuit. According to Italian media outlet Tuttosport (via Canal Supporters), Juventus FC has abandoned their file of Icardi.

The report states that with the new loan for Alvaro Morata, and the possible contract extension of Paulo Dybala’s contract, and the probability of Cristiano Ronaldo staying, The Old Lady no longer feels the need to add a forward.

PSG is reportedly pursuing Lazio striker Joaquin Correa due to the 26-year-old, so it would be interesting to see where Icardi fits. Les Parisiens plan to spend big this summer and a potential sale of Icardi could help offset any purchases.
