PSG Mercato: French Journalist Claims There’s No Financial Issues if Paris SG Pursues Man United Midfielder Paul Pogba

Paris Saint-Germain has set its sights on pursuing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba as the 28-year-old has one more year left on his contract. The English club must decide whether to sell him this summer r potentially lose him to a free transfer next year.

Should Pogba state to Manchester United that he doesn’t intend to extend his contract, the capital club can begin talks with The Red Devils.

Despite having an already busy summer that’s seen the French giants corner the free transfer market and spent a significant sum on Achraf Hakimi, Les Parisiens plan to continue spending.

Furthermore, the financial aspects of a Pogba deal shouldn’t be an issue for PSG, claims Libération journalist Grégory Schneider during his appearance on LÉquipe du Soir (via Canal Supporters).

“The DNCG is not intended to see a club balance its accounts. What is she getting herself into? Why is she releasing this info? The DNCG must know the creditworthiness of the owner. A quick phone call to the Emir of Qatar can reassure them. Does anyone have any doubts? No one is more economically sound in football,” Schneider said.

“Attaching “economically complicated” to Qatar, I find it hard to believe. It’s limitless. They had the skin of financial fair play. There will be no problem (to sign Pogba). It’s been ten years that PSG never sells anyone and buys stars.”

The Ligue 1 club wants to find an impact midfielder, one at the level of Marco Verratti, and it seems as though even if their pursuit of Pogba falls short, there are other options PSG wants to pursue
