Training for Paris Saint-Germain has resumed as they begin preparations for the 2021-22 season. However, one name that didn’t show up to the Camp des Loges is goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, Le Parisien reports.
Areola is back from his loan stint with Fulham FC, who were relegated from the Premier League last season. Now the 28-year-old has returned to the capital club by contract.
Nonetheless, Areola wants a move out of the French capital, and his agent, Mino Raiola, is working on landing his client in a new club for next season. Various clubs have expressed interest in the goalkeeper, but no deal has yet to materialize.
With Keylor Navas and now Gianluigi Donnarumma commanding the net for PSG, it’s clear that Areola has no future there. It would be in the best interest of both parties to part ways either on another loan, considering the player is under contract until 2023 or a permanent sale.
